Instagram Removed Hundreds Of Users From The Platform - Check Out The Reason!

Hundreds of Instagram accounts were put down by the popular social media app last Thursday. All these accounts were alleged of hacking and selling usernames. The action was taken after the company along with other social media services (including Twitter and Tiktok) investigated OGUsers; a community for digital buyers and sellers.

Such practices are illegal and against the company’s policy. Facebook Inc. has sent the legal document and ceases letters to the offenders for selling around 400 accounts.

Instagram, a group of Facebook Inc. reported:

"Today, we're removing hundreds of accounts connected to members of the OGUsers forum,"

"They harass, extort and cause harm to the Instagram community, and we will continue to do all we can to make it difficult for them to profit from Instagram usernames."

Interestingly, people a part of the illegal case were also involved in last year’s Twitter account hack; when a group of VIP’s were manipulated. Twitter has permanently terminated the accounts of these OGUsers as they spread spamming and manipulation.

Similarly, Tiktok found out these OGUsers registered for various usernames for resale purposes.

Consequently, Twitter and Tiktok had taken necessary actions against these OGUsers for violating the company’s rules.
