The Acronis Cyber Readiness Report 2020 has put out a serious concern for Indian companies. The report ranked India as the top victims of the cyber attacks, compared to the other developed nations amidst COVID-19. The companies have also mentioned that their IT costs have immensely grown in the last few months (almost double) due to the cyber attacks.
As stated in the report, around 92% of the companies are relying on advanced technology to work remotely, safeguard their data, and maintain other security measures.
It is very much true that the spread of coronavirus and work from home tactic has made it hard for the IT professionals. It is very challenging for them to track employees' systems and prevent companies' confidential data.
Further, the report revealed that evil hackers had taken advantage of the pandemic and targeted remote employees. Video conference attacks are the most commonly experienced attacks by people.
The phishing attacks were not behind. The data shocks as only 2% of the companies use URL filters; the remote workers were open to cyber attacks. As recorded, 62% of Indian companies were struggling against these internet criminals.
